Fix common errors
- "Open Discord in this tab first."
- DiscordSuite only works on a discord.com tab. Switch to Discord and reopen it.
- "No channel open."
- Click into a channel, thread or DM so the URL shows
/channels/…. - "Could not read your Discord session. Reload Discord and try again."
- Reload discord.com and make sure you're signed in.
- "Discord rejected the session token."
- Sign out and back in to Discord, then reload.
- "You do not have access to this channel."
- Your account can't read that channel.
- "Rate limited by Discord; try again later."
- Wait a few minutes, then export again.
- "This channel type cannot be exported as a message list."
- Some channel types, such as voice channels, can't be exported as a message list. Open a text channel, thread or DM instead.
- Export stopped before the end of the chat.
- That's the free message limit per export. Narrow the dates or buy Chat Exporter.
- "An export is already running."
- Wait for it to finish, or click Cancel.
- "No matching attachments."
- Your media-only filters matched no files. Add more media types or extensions, or widen the date range.
- "Select at least one media type."
- Tick Images, Videos, Audio or Other before a media-only export.
- Emoji download stopped before every item was saved.
- That's the free emoji downloader's limit per download. Emoji & Sticker Downloader has no limit.
Member export errors
- "Save a bot token first."
- Paste your bot token under Members and click Save. Setup is on the member list export page.
- "Add your bot to this server first."
- Click Add bot to this server and approve it for this server.
- "Turn on Server Members Intent for your bot…"
- In the Discord Developer Portal, open your app, go to Bot, then Privileged Gateway Intents, and switch on Server Members Intent.
- "The bot token is invalid or was reset."
- Copy a fresh token from the Developer Portal and save it again.
- "That token is not a bot token."
- Paste the token from your app's Bot page, not your own account's token.
- "Open a server to export its members."
- Click into any channel of the server, then reopen DiscordSuite.
- Export is slow.
- Large channels take time because Discord limits request speed. Keep Chrome open.
